Fifty States Before Forty (12/50).  Located near Beaufort, South Carolina, Old Sheldon Church (ruins) are believed to be the first attempt to imitate a Greek temple in the United States.  The ruins is burial site of Colonel William Bull who was a key player in the laying out of Savannah, GA.  Learn more:  https://www.beaufortcountysc.gov/planning/historic-sites/sheldon-church.html [2022]
